Qingdao railway container terminal of China railway union is one of the super large container distribution hubs approved to be established by the ministry of China railways.It  is also the only railway container terminal in Shandong Province after the establishment and the operation of the other 7 hubs at the same scale. It started to operate in Aug.30,2010 and its main clients are Qingdao port and other ocean ports in Shandong. the terminal uses AIS (Automatic Identification System) to identify the numbers of the truck and the container. The container truck can go in and out without pause. In June, 2012, the hub got the qualification to transport crossing border from the Ministry of China Railways and the International Carriage of Goods by Rail. In Dec. 28, 2012, the international trains from the terminal to Middle Asia and West Euro via Khorgos was open. It only takes about 15 days to Holand, about 30 days shorter than it does by ship. The opening of the International Combined Transhipment really make the terminal the important hub of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge.
