Tempered glass, one of the safety glass, is obtained by cutting ordinary annealed glass to the required size. Annealed Glass is heated to about 700 degrees close to the softening point. After that, performing rapid and uniform cooling. On that process, 5-6MM glass is usually heated at 700 degrees for about 240 seconds, The temperature is lowered for about 150 seconds. The 8-10mm glass is heated for about 500 seconds at a high temperature of 700 degrees, and the temperature is lowered for about 300 seconds. In short, according to the thickness of the glass, the heating and cooling time is different. After tempering, uniform compressive stress is formed on the surface of the glass, and tensile stress is formed inside, which improves the bending and impact strength of the glass. The strength of Tempered Glass is about four times that of ordinary annealed glass.

The tempered glass can not be subjected to any cutting, grinding or other processing or be damaged. Otherwise it will be "broken and broken" due to the destruction of the uniform compressive stress balance. Besides, there must be process on their edges. Small cracks and micro-cracks formed by cutting on the edge of the glass are abraded to eliminate local stress concentration and increase the strength of the glass.

The stress feature has also become an important sign to distinguish tempered glass. That is, tempered glass can see colored stripes on the edge of the glass through the polarizer. And black & white can be seen on the surface of the glass. Alternate spots, the polarizer can be found in the camera lens or glasses. Pay attention to the adjustment of the light source when observing, so that it is easier to observe.
